It’s tempting to try and bucket synthetic meat into the “eat bugs” category, but I think this is a categorical mistake. I eat meat every chance I get - it’s truly the world’s greatest food. It’s expensive, slow, resource intensive, and therefore inaccessible at scale to the majority of earths population. Lab grown meat will be one of the greatest boons to global health in our lifetimes. No soy, no phytoestrogen, plenty of healthy fats. Plus, no animal cruelty, or the very negative secondary effects of factory farming on the planet. A strictly superior food, and a massive upgrade to society broadly. When we colonize the stars, it will be done with lab grown protein like this.
