Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 13, Apple unveiled a new device called HomeView. Priced at $299, this smart display is set to become Apple's flagship product in its bid to challenge Amazon and Google and expand into the smart home market. HomeView will be available starting November 13 and is primarily operated through hands-free voice commands, utilizing facial recognition technology to provide personalized software experiences for each family member.
The device has no physical buttons but features a 7-inch touchscreen with an app grid layout that will feel very familiar to iPhone and iPad users. Apple positions HomeView as the ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of its Siri AI assistant. With a built-in camera, the device can instantly recognize up to six different users and deliver personalized responses, whether assisting with cooking, making video calls with friends and family, or playing music through its speakers.
To rapidly expand its presence in the smart home market, Apple is collaborating with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to launch a series of "Apple Home Collection" accessories, including indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbells, thermostats, and smart locks. Apple has participated in the joint development of these hardware products, which will begin shipping in December, priced between $199 and $399. (Jin10)
