As unrestricted private AI becomes more widespread, the cost of malicious activities in cybersecurity is getting lower and lower. Old corporate architectures and the vulnerabilities they rely on are like wide-open doors in the eyes of AI.
Take Sunday night into Monday as an example: hackers exploited a vulnerability in the cold chain management software of Denmark's Danfoss company to remotely raise the temperature of refrigerators in about 400 supermarkets in France. Intermarché's refrigerators stayed at 50°C for six hours, destroying all the food, and some stores even experienced small fires. The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation, and Prime Minister Le Cornu has requested the National Cybersecurity Agency to intervene.
