[South Korea's KOSPI Index Plunges 4% Intraday, Triggers 'Sell-side Circuit Breaker' After Two Months] On Tuesday, South Korea's KOSPI Index plummeted 4% within about an hour of market opening, triggering a 'sell-side circuit breaker' for the first time in approximately two months. Due to fluctuations in the KOSPI 200 futures index, the effectiveness of sell orders in the securities market was suspended for 5 minutes. At the time of the trigger, the KOSPI 200 futures index was at 955.02 points, down 51.20 points (5.08%) from the previous trading day's closing price. The securities market's sell-side circuit breaker is triggered when the KOSPI 200 futures index drops more than 5% and sustains the decline for 1 minute. This marks the first circuit breaker activation in the KOSPI market since August 20, and the first sell-side circuit breaker since August 19.
