[Fairshake-Linked Political Action Committees Spend $2.7 Million Supporting 2026 House Candidates] Odaily Planet Daily News: U.S. political action committees Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, affiliated with Fairshake, have spent a total of $2.7 million to support Democratic and Republican candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. The expenditures occurred 22 days before the U.S. midterm elections. The spending includes over $76,000 in support of House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, $73,000 in support of House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson, $512,000 in support of California Representative Pete Aguilar, and $500,000 in support of New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer. Fairshake announced a few days ago that it plans to support an additional 32 House candidates in 2026, with six of them each receiving $1 million in supportive media spending. As of August, Fairshake held $122 million in cash and plans to allocate at least $30 million for media expenditures opposing Sherrod Brown's bid for the Ohio Senate election. All of the aforementioned candidates voted in 2025 in favor of the Digital Asset Market Transparency Act (CLARITY Act). The act aims to establish a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency market structures and expand the enforcement authority of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). However, the act failed to pass a procedural vote in the Senate in September. (Cointelegraph)
