I spoke with Chancellor Friedrich Merz @bundeskanzler. I am grateful for his solidarity with Ukraine and support for our people. We discussed how Russia is responding to President Trump’s statement on an energy ceasefire with new attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities. This is exactly how the Russians behave when pressure eases. It is very important that Europe continue to act on principle. Germany is working to organize a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. It is equally important to work through all other formats that can strengthen Ukraine and all of Europe. We agreed to hold a meeting of national security advisors in the E3–Ukraine format. We also discussed support for Ukraine’s financial resilience. We will discuss everything in greater detail during our meeting this week. Thank you, Friedrich! Thank you, Germany!
