[Zelensky Accuses Russia of Violating Energy Ceasefire, Urges Trump to Act on Agreement] Golden Finance reported that on October 12, Ukrainian President Zelensky on Monday accused Russia of violating the energy ceasefire arrangement announced by U.S. President Trump, stating that Russian forces attacked a thermal power plant in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and urged the U.S. to take action to ensure Russia complies with the agreement. Zelensky said Ukraine has yet to receive the specific terms of the energy ceasefire and that he only learned through media reports that Trump had announced both sides agreed to the ceasefire. He claimed that over the past week, Russian forces launched more than 200 attacks on Ukraine's power generation and transmission facilities, along with 17 attacks targeting oil and gas facilities, while stating that Ukrainian forces did not attack Russian refineries on Sunday night. Europe remains cautious about whether the ceasefire can be implemented. French President Macron stated that no signs of Russia adhering to the energy ceasefire have been observed in the past 48 hours. On Monday, EU foreign ministers approved the addition of nearly 1,600 new sanctions against Russia's military-industrial complex, with more than half related to the ballistic missile production chain. Additionally, Reuters, citing informed sources, reported that the U.S. had threatened to suspend intelligence sharing with Ukraine and stop providing weapons through relevant mechanisms to pressure Ukraine into halting attacks on Russian energy facilities. Russia has yet to respond to the ceasefire arrangement.
