[AI Model Evaluates Bitcoin Signature Security Risks: Up to 76% Probability of Being Cracked Within 20 Years] Odaily Planet Daily News – On October 11, on-chain analyst Willy Woo shared AI-generated estimates indicating that the probability of Bitcoin digital signatures being cracked within the next two years is 1.3%. The estimates involve quantum computing as well as classical mathematical or AI-assisted cryptanalysis. Subsequently, researchers used approximately four AI models to evaluate the probability of Bitcoin's ECDSA and Schnorr signatures being practically cracked within 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years. ChatGPT-6 Astra estimated a 20-year probability of about 76%, Claude estimated about 66%, Grok estimated 60%, and Deepseek estimated 34%. All four models identified quantum computing as the primary long-term threat and suggested that the probability of related risks within the next two years is between 0% and 2%. The models also pointed out that there are currently no practical classical cryptanalysis methods to break secp256k1, and advancements in AI capabilities alone have not yet resulted in verified breakthroughs in cryptanalysis.
