[U.S. Cash Bond Market Closed on Monday, U.S. Stocks and Treasury Futures Trade as Usual]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on October 12, the holiday schedule of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) indicates that the U.S. cash bond market will be closed on Monday (October 12). October 12 is Columbus Day in the United States, one of the federal public holidays, though holiday observances vary across regions. For financial markets, U.S. stock markets will remain open, and CME's U.S. Treasury futures will also trade as usual, but the U.S. cash bond market will be closed for the entire day. U.S. cash bonds and Treasury futures are not the same type of trading instruments: cash bonds refer to actual issued U.S. Treasury bonds, corporate bonds, commercial paper, etc., while Treasury futures are standardized futures contracts based on U.S. Treasury bonds.
