[Moonshot Executives in Settlement Talks with Shareholders Ahead of Planned Hong Kong IPO]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on October 12, as reported by Reuters, executives of Chinese artificial intelligence startup Moonshot are engaged in settlement negotiations with shareholders demanding compensation ahead of the company's planned initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong.
According to informed sources and related correspondence, AI software developer Recurrent.ai and some of its investors have accused Moonshot co-founder and CEO Yang Zhilin and CTO Zhang Yutao of making false statements to investors and transferring technology and business resources to Moonshot without authorization for personal gain. The investors are seeking compensation equivalent to 10.5% of Moonshot's initial shares, which, based on the company's $30 billion valuation during its June fundraising round, could be worth over $700 million.
Moonshot has previously filed a confidential application for a Hong Kong IPO. Sources indicate that while the dispute is not expected to directly jeopardize the listing plan, failure to resolve it could raise concerns among potential investors regarding governance, ownership, and information disclosure, potentially complicating the IPO process.
Yang Zhilin has previously denied the allegations, with his legal representatives stating that the accusations lack legal and factual basis.
