Two waves of over $63 million ETH sell-offs, suspected to be from the same whale
Last night, Hyperliquid's ETH/USDC perpetual market saw two waves of concentrated market sell orders, with a total net sell-off of approximately $56.97 million. Following the smart money addresses, the sell-offs mainly came from two suspected related accounts.
1️⃣ 23:29~23:34, 0x2371...0883 closed a long position of 12,000 ETH, earning $891,200; then briefly flipped to a short position of 1,000 ETH, only to stop-loss and close the position 28 seconds later.
2️⃣ 23:42, 0xbd1c...ff0e closed a long position of 10,000 ETH, earning $722,300, and immediately flipped to a short position of 1,000 ETH; this morning, half of the short position was closed, leaving 500 ETH still open.
Both addresses were established at the end of June, and their BTC and ETH opening/closing times and trading rhythms are highly similar, suspected to be operated by the same whale.
Based on existing records, these two addresses have closed positions 11 times in total, with 10 wins and 1 loss, accumulating profits of $18.26 million.
