A comment I saw roughly said:
He's now also drinking Coke,
staying at home reading books,
'Except for not making money,
I'm pretty much just like Buffett now.'
Gotta say, this guy has a good sense of humor.
For me personally,
every time I think Buffett is no big deal
and get full of myself, I start losing money.
When I lose so much I feel like a complete loser,
I go back and reread Buffett's books,
and then I slowly start making money again.
Value investing is like a balance scale.
When you feel like value investing should be thrown in the trash,
that's probably when your account is at ATH (all-time high),
and then you start abandoning principles,
chasing highs, panic selling, leveraging,
and dabbling in things you don't understand.
The moment you think you're invincible,
that's when the losses begin.
When the losses become unbearable,
and you start reviewing everything,
you realize,
the master already told you everything,
you just couldn't follow it.
But as you keep imitating,
both your account and mindset gradually improve.
So basically, if you ask someone
what they think about Buffett and value investing,
if they say it's trash,
they're probably doing okay right now but already on a downhill path.
But if they say it's classic, like holy scripture,
then you know,
this guy has probably lost a ton—like me
but is slowly climbing back up.
