[South Korea's AI Concept Stock Boom Cools: Trading Volume Plunges 70% from May Peak, Foreign Capital Accelerates Withdrawal]
According to BusinessTimes, South Korea has been a prime example of the global AI boom for most of this year. However, by almost every metric, Korean stocks are now rapidly losing investors' attention. Market trading volume has plummeted 70% from its peak at the end of May, with foreign investors swiftly pulling out, and local retail investors also exiting. Behind this reversal lies the Korean stock market's overreliance on Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Richard Tang of Julius Baer Bank stated: 'We are observing a growing flow of funds back into U.S. stocks, which has led to a continued outflow of foreign capital from Korean stocks.'
