[COLDCARD Discloses Phishing Post on Its X Account, Cause Yet to Be Confirmed]
Foresight News reports that Bitcoin hardware wallet manufacturer COLDCARD announced that its official X account earlier today displayed a fake security notice containing a phishing link. The post falsely claimed that a vulnerability in the new firmware's mnemonic generation existed and attempted to lure users into visiting a counterfeit website to migrate their assets. The related post has since been deleted.
COLDCARD stated that the account has always used offline two-factor authentication (2FA), and no abnormal logins, sessions, or access records have been detected. The account credentials and 2FA remain secure. The team has contacted the X platform for an investigation and expressed concerns about potential unauthorized access at the platform level or via administrator privileges. However, the specific cause has yet to be confirmed.
