Completely exhausted! My new Mac Studio finally arrived today. Setting up the system wasn’t too complicated, but the tricky part is that this Mac Studio is meant to be used as a 'server.' My plan is to access this Mac Studio via the local network or remotely to handle AI tasks, like running ChatGPT.
I used to rely on my old PC for this, but the hassle was that I’d shut it down every night, and the PC was cluttered with all sorts of random stuff. So, I wanted a clean environment to build a 'cloud system,' where tasks that need to run 24/7 and exchange API operations can all be executed through this Mac Studio.
The idea is pretty simple, but setting it up was a real headache. I really miss my 57-inch monitor back in Shanghai, which could connect to multiple sources at once. But since my room in Singapore is smaller, I’m using a 34-inch monitor. So, I had to figure out how to control the ChatGPT on the Mac Studio from the ChatGPT on my PC. It took me three to four hours of tinkering to get it somewhat set up.
But now I don’t even know what tasks to run . When I bought it, I had all these ideas for features I wanted to implement. Now that I have it, I don’t know what to use it for. Guess I’m just a classic gearhead after all.
For now, I’m mainly using ChatGPT to run some trading models that need 24/7 monitoring. This afternoon, I learned a lot of AI tips and tricks from @OwenJin12, @punk2898, and @agintender. Too bad @0xVeryBigOrange left early, or I could’ve learned even more.
One step at a time, I guess.
