Just came across a super promising project @omenapp At least that’s what I think. Recently, the on-chain options sector has clearly regained some heat. Take DRV, for example—it’s already surged about 5x since August, hitting new highs in both price and TVL. As for Omen, their approach can be summed up as a fragmented options trading platform designed for retail investors. 1/ The core innovation lies in fragmented options. Traditional U.S. stock options usually follow the rule: 1 contract = 100 shares, which sets a high entry barrier. Many strategies require thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars to execute. Omen, on the other hand, envisions options contracts with a 1x multiplier: 1 contract = 1 share. This way, users can express their trading views with just a few dollars or tens of dollars. 2/ Beyond smaller contract units, Omen emphasizes a few key directions: Blockchain abstraction. The blockchain serves only as a backend settlement layer, minimizing users’ exposure to complex on-chain operations. 24/7 options trading. Making options tradeable around the clock, just like the crypto market. Cross-margining between options and perpetuals. Integrating options and perpetuals into a unified margin system, allowing them to complement each other rather than being siloed products. 3/ Team and investors. The founder @djeong has a background that aligns well with this direction. He was an Apple Campus Leader early on, later worked as a software engineer at DoorDash, and also served as a quantitative trader at the globally renowned SIG. A solid mix of tech and quant trading expertise. According to their website, Omen has secured investment from U.S.-based VC firm Susa Ventures. While Susa isn’t a crypto-native fund, their portfolio includes Robinhood, which lends some credibility in assessing retail financial products and early-stage fintech. Overall, Omen isn’t just another on-chain options narrative—it’s an attempt to redesign traditional options products into a form that’s more suitable for retail investors: smaller units, lower barriers, more continuous trading experiences, and better margin efficiency. Of course, whether an options trading platform can truly take off ultimately depends on liquidity and real user demand. DYOR
