Miracle drug for weight loss and anti-aging? Feels like taking an elixir of immortality The biggest issue with these kinds of drugs: you can’t stop taking them. Once you stop, the weight rebounds, and honestly, the long-term cost is still a big question mark since this stuff has only been super popular in the past year or two. Rebound after stopping (pretty much inevitable) This is the hardest counterexample: • STEP 1 extension study: 1 year after stopping, about 2/3 of the weight lost came back, and most metabolic improvements reversed. • 2026 BMJ systematic review/meta-analysis: For newer GLP-1 drugs, after stopping, weight rebounds by about 0.8 kg per month on average, with baseline weight likely returning in ~1.5 years. • Tirzepatide rebound speed is similar or even faster. Once weight and metabolic markers return, the improvements in your aging clock are also very likely to reverse. Basically, you’d have to stay on the drug long-term to maintain the effects. #WeightLoss #AntiAging #GLP1 #Tirzepatide
