Holy crap, case solved! Turns out the hacker installed a mobile communication module inside a Ledger wallet, stealing all 24 recovery phrases directly! Mt. Gox's former CEO, Mark Karpelès, took apart a Ledger Nano X from Malaysia and discovered a hidden spy circuit board inside. The outer shrink wrap was completely intact, and the device looked totally normal. But inside the wallet, there was an added microcontroller, LTE communication module, antenna, and eSIM. These components intercepted data transmitted between the secure chip and the screen, identifying the recovery phrases displayed on the screen. When you initialize the wallet for the first time and the screen shows those 24 words one by one, the implanted module can record them and secretly send them to the attacker via mobile networks. You thought your private key was never connected to the internet, but in reality, the wallet already had a tiny communication device designed to steal your recovery phrases. The scariest part? This kind of modification might even pass Ledger's official Genuine Check verification. Official verification guide: https://support.(ledger.com)/zh-CN/article/4404382029329-zd Why? Because the secure chip itself is genuine, and the hacker just added an extra eavesdropping device. Ledger's own security documentation even explicitly admits: As long as the original secure chip is intact, the Genuine Check cannot detect this type of physical implant. If the packaging is untouched, the chip is real, and the official software verification passes, you could still fall victim to this. #CryptoSecurity #Ledger #Hacking #StaySafe
