[Former Super Micro Computer Contractor Pleads Guilty in $2.5 Billion AI Server Shipment to China Case]
According to Bloomberg, former Super Micro Computer (Supermicro) contractor Ting-Wei 'Willy' Sun has pleaded guilty in U.S. federal court in Manhattan. In March of this year, U.S. prosecutors accused Sun of conspiring with Supermicro co-founder Yih-Shyan 'Wally' Liaw and three others to reroute approximately $2.5 billion worth of servers equipped with NVIDIA's advanced AI chips to China via Southeast Asian companies, violating U.S. export control laws.
