**[Global Banks' Precious Metals Trading Revenue Expected to Hit Record $5 Billion This Year]** According to a report by Golden Finance on October 10, citing insiders and Crisil Coalition Greenwich data, global banks' precious metals trading revenue is projected to reach approximately $5 billion in 2026, setting a historic record. This surge is driven by sharp fluctuations in gold and silver prices and active investor trading. Among the banks, JPMorgan earned approximately $700 million in revenue from gold, silver, and other precious metals trading and related businesses in the first half of the year, nearing its historical peak of over $1 billion for the full year of 2020. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank has generated over $200 million in related revenue so far this year. Banks profit through short-term options, leveraged ETF trading, and gold price arbitrage across different markets. Additionally, Citi became the first bank in a decade to join London's gold market vault and clearing services this year, while Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley are also seeking entry into this sector. Despite gold and silver prices retreating from their early-year highs, they remain more than double their levels at the start of 2024.
