[AI Agents Now Have Contact Lists, Photon Enables Them to Form Groups in iMessage for Tasks]
Beating AI News Flash: AI Agents can now independently find other Agents for assistance. Messaging infrastructure company Photon has announced the introduction of A2A (Agent-to-Agent communication and collaboration) into iMessage group chats. Users only need to assign a task, and their personal Agent can locate other Agents, obtain phone numbers, and bring them into the same group chat.
For example, if a user wants to organize a team outing, their personal Agent can find Agents responsible for accommodations, transportation, and restaurant reservations, and have them collaborate in the group to arrange the itinerary. Users can monitor the conversation and participate in discussions at any time. Photon refers to this model as "Agent-to-Agent-to-Person," where multiple Agents collaborate alongside a human.
Technically, this new feature is based on the A2A protocol and its Agent discovery mechanism, which was initially proposed by Google. Photon had previously enabled AI Agents to send and receive messages via iMessage, and this update adds the capability to actively find other Agents and establish group chats.
Photon recently completed a $4.5 million seed funding round. Founder Daniel Tian envisions a future where every company can provide its own Agent, allowing direct contact with other Agents. [Original Article Link]
