[Wall Street's Five Major Banks Expected to Reach $19 Billion in Q3 Stock Trading Revenue]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Wall Street's largest banks are expected to disclose a combined stock trading revenue of nearly $19 billion for the third quarter when they release their earnings reports next week. However, as activity in the capital markets begins to cool, performance gaps among the banks are becoming increasingly apparent, with some banks significantly outperforming their competitors. This marks a sharp contrast to the first half of the year, when nearly all five major U.S. banks benefited from a trading boom, with both equity and fixed-income trading divisions remaining busy.
According to analyst forecasts compiled as of the close of the New York market on Thursday, Goldman Sachs, which is set to release its earnings report next Tuesday, is expected to lead the major banks with $5.1 billion in Q3 stock trading revenue. Morgan Stanley is projected to follow closely with $4.9 billion in stock trading revenue, while JPMorgan Chase is expected to post $4.5 billion. Bank of America's stock trading division is anticipated to achieve $2.6 billion in revenue.
