[Semiconductor, Optical Communication, and Storage Concepts Rebound in U.S. Stock Market Night Session; LITE CEO States Optical Device Capacity Sold Out Through Early 2029]
BlockBeats News, October 9: According to BIT ((bit.com)) market data, semiconductor, optical communication, and storage concepts rebounded in the U.S. stock market night session. Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) rose nearly 5%, and Lumentum (LITE) gained 3%.
Michael Hurlston, CEO of optical communication leader Lumentum, stated today that due to tech companies racing to build faster AI data centers, the company's optical device capacity has been completely sold out through early 2029. Some products will still face approximately 70% unmet demand by next year, while other products will face 30% unmet demand through 2028.
In April of this year, Hurlston had previously mentioned that the company's entire 2028 production capacity was expected to be fully booked within two quarters.
