[Sector Pullback Leads Storage Giants to Exit Positions, Liquidating Over $63.7 Million in NVIDIA and Storage Long Positions]
BlockBeats News, October 9: According to TradingBeats monitoring, the previously tracked 'smart money' in storage (0xc8b5) concentrated on clearing out long positions in NVIDIA, SanDisk, and SK Hynix overnight, with total liquidation transactions amounting to approximately $63.71 million. Currently, there are no remaining positions, though withdrawals have not yet been made. This exit occurred during a pullback in AI hardware-related contracts.
During the same period, contracts for NVIDIA, SanDisk, and SK Hynix (SKHX) fell by approximately 1.86%, 3.70%, and 3.84% respectively over 24 hours, while Micron dropped by about 3.16%. On the news front, elevated oil prices and U.S. Treasury yields, along with concerns over financing costs for AI infrastructure, continue to weigh on sentiment in the tech and semiconductor sectors.
This round of liquidation included approximately $31.81 million in NVIDIA long positions, $19.79 million in SanDisk long positions, and $12.09 million in SK Hynix long positions, with all three positions fully exited. These positions previously had a combined unrealized profit of approximately $2.065 million, but today's final liquidation resulted in realized trading profits of about $123,300, giving back approximately $1.9417 million—roughly 94% of the prior unrealized gains.
