[Ethereum Foundation Researcher Releases EIP Draft: Proposes Execution Chain Proof to Support Constant-Time Synchronization of Execution Layer from Weak Subjectivity Checkpoints]
Foresight News reports that Ethereum Foundation researcher frisitano has released an EIP draft. The draft includes a proof mechanism for recursively verifying the validity of the entire execution payload from the head to the genesis beacon block, binding it to the beacon chain. Each proof extends one block after verifying the previous full payload proof.
The public input commits to the genesis and head beacon block roots, chain ID, and the stateless input mode version, broadcasting only these two roots during propagation. Consecutive proofs are connected by the beacon state, with guest programs reusing the envelope processor from EIP-7732 and being verified through the execution engine. Newer proofs on the same branch include earlier proofs, enabling the execution layer to synchronize from weak subjectivity checkpoints in constant time. Proofs are propagated via gossip, with at most a minimal request-response protocol supported by a bounded memory cache for service.
