According to CriptoNoticias, the Spanish government approved Royal Decree No. 813/2026 on October 8, 2026, tightening anti-money laundering regulations. The official gazette reveals that cryptocurrency ATMs in Spain will no longer allow anonymous transactions, and all transactions must undergo mandatory identity verification. Previously, smaller transactions at physical terminals did not require full identity checks. The new regulation states that "reliable identity verification is mandatory for all transactions conducted at cryptocurrency ATMs." Operators have an 18-month transition period to implement advanced electronic identity verification systems.
