Stark @Starknet is getting way too full of itself and is pulling off an epic backstab on Ethereum. Starknet made a high-profile announcement on X, claiming they're considering breaking away from Ethereum to build their own L1, aiming to make Stark the first fully quantum-resistant network. Stark's founder and core figure @EliBenSasson posted a lengthy article subtly throwing shade at Ethereum, implying that Ethereum L1 is the bottleneck for Starknet's path to post-quantum security. Interestingly, the entire post doesn't propose any actual executable solutions for quantum resistance—it’s all just slogans and hype. So, does Starknet's behavior qualify as a backstab to Ethereum? Without a doubt, yes. Starknet's funding narrative, security, liquidity, and STRK valuation are all built on being an "Ethereum ZK Rollup." Without this deep connection to Ethereum, Starknet would just be another random chain that nobody uses. Even today, Starknet is still branding itself as an Ethereum L2 and enjoying Ethereum's settlement security. But that doesn’t stop them from using their host and the shortcomings of the entire blockchain public chain space as marketing material. Honestly, the way they’re doing this is pretty ugly.
