**[79th Vault: Private Key Compromised, White Hat Settlement Proposal Offered]**
Foresight News reports that 79th Vault tweeted that its token 79AU was attacked on October 7 due to account permission management vulnerabilities. The attacker obtained the operator's private key and used the associated permissions to extract tokens from the contract, causing a short-term abnormal price surge. Subsequently, the assets were swapped on-chain into USDT and then converted into BNB.
Emergency fixes and risk control reviews have been implemented for the relevant permissions and contract operations. The attacker's address has been identified, and the stolen assets are still being tracked. The team has proposed a white hat settlement plan under the bug bounty framework, and the attacker has responded, with negotiations still ongoing. Additionally, the team is collaborating with relevant exchanges, blockchain security firms, and other parties to explore legal and practical avenues for recovering the stolen assets.
Foresight News previously reported, based on monitoring by Defimon Alerts, that 79th Vault on BNB Chain may have lost approximately $12.5 million due to private key leakage.
