[UK Sanctions Cryptomus, Heleket, and TokenSpot for Alleged Assistance in Evading Russian Financial Blockades] BlockBeats News, October 8: The UK announced a new round of sanctions against Russia, targeting 38 entities, including three cryptocurrency trading platforms, two payment platforms, one associated individual, and a Moscow-based bank, citing allegations of assisting Russia in evading financial sanctions. Among them, Cryptomus and Heleket were identified as different names for the same entity, Xeltox Enterprises Ltd (also known as Certa Payments Ltd, registered in Canada); TokenSpot CJSC is registered in Kyrgyzstan. The same list also includes the Kyrgyzstan-based payment platform Tsunami Payments LLC. Blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs reported that TokenSpot transferred over $950 million cumulatively to sanctioned platforms Grinex, Garantex, and the Kremlin-backed A7 network. In April, TRM assessed operational links between Cryptomus and Heleket, suggesting that Heleket was likely launched as a parallel service by Cryptomus to continue large-scale fund processing. On October 6, TRM further assessed that TokenSpot and Grinex shared wallet infrastructure, operating as part of the same system. TRM's April data also revealed that in on-chain transactions between Cryptomus and Garantex, Cryptomus received over $204 million and transferred out $101 million. [Original Link]
