[Starknet Considering Transition to L1 for Autonomous Advancement of Quantum-Safe Upgrades, Earliest Implementation by 2027] Foresight News reports that StarkWare co-founder and CEO Eli Ben-Sasson stated that Starknet, as an L2 relying on Ethereum's underlying security, is currently exploring multiple options, including transitioning to L1, to autonomously control the network's security migration process in response to cryptographic risks potentially posed by quantum computing and AI. He noted that Starknet is built on ZK-STARK technology, which offers cryptographic agility, and has already developed a roadmap for post-quantum security migration. Ethereum plans to achieve full quantum-resistant L1 security by the end of 2029, while Bitcoin has yet to make a similar commitment. Starknet, however, is expected to implement related upgrades as early as 2027.
