[TSMC Q3 Revenue Grows 50%, AI Demand Remains Strong]
DeepTech TechFlow reports that on October 8, TSMC (TSM.N) announced on Thursday that its third-quarter revenue reached NT$1.49 trillion (approximately $46.71 billion), driven by strong growth in AI application demand. This marks a 50% year-over-year increase, setting a new record high and surpassing the market expectation of NT$1.46 trillion. TSMC's robust sales growth has reinforced market confidence in AI demand.
Previously, investors were grappling with challenges such as rising debt levels, regulatory hurdles, and calls from OpenAI and Anthropic PBC to slow the pace of emerging technology development. AMD (AMD.O) CEO Lisa Su stated this week that the company expects chip demand to continue growing significantly in the coming years. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics reported a nearly ninefold surge in operating profit. AI server assembler Foxconn also announced quarterly sales this week that exceeded market expectations.
The key topics of focus during TSMC's Q3 earnings call will include the outlook for 2027 and beyond. Pricing is another major point of interest, with Taiwanese media reporting that TSMC's wafer prices could rise by 3% to 6% in 2027. (Jin10)
