If you travel abroad often, I think the Gate Card product is pretty practical.
Back in the day, applying for a Visa card for overseas trips meant running to the bank, submitting documents, and waiting for approval. It was a hassle when you needed it urgently.
Now, Gate has streamlined everything into one system: 'account + deposit + currency exchange + spending.'
Here are a few features I find particularly useful:
① Gate Card: Use your phone directly as a Visa card.
You don’t necessarily need to carry a physical card for offline purchases. It supports tap-to-pay with your phone, making dining, shopping, and other scenarios abroad much more convenient.
② Gate Money: Open a USD account under your own name.
The key point is "same-name account."
Instead of using someone else’s account to receive money, you can open an account under your own name for cross-border transactions. It’s much more convenient for daily use.
③ Multiple deposit methods.
You can deposit via bank transfer, on-chain recharge, or internal transfer within Gate. Just choose the method that suits your funding source.
④ Manage funds after deposit.
You can exchange between fiat and digital assets within Gate Money, and later allocate funds to stocks, ETFs, gold, and other assets.
How to open an account?
First, update the Gate App to v8.39.0.
Home → Money → Deposit → Bank Transfer → Select Fiat → Open a dedicated USD account.
Fill in the required information on the page, and once completed, you’ll see your same-name account details.
How to deposit funds?
There are three methods:
Bank transfer
Copy the recipient name, account/IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, and other details provided on the page. Use your own bank account to transfer funds, then return to the page to confirm.
On-chain recharge
Select the corresponding token and network, and directly deposit assets into your Gate Money payment account.
Gate transfer
If your assets are already in Gate, simply transfer them from your spot account to your payment account. Choose the token and amount.
Once the funds are credited, connect them to Gate Card for spending.
To put it simply:
Bank account handles receiving and sending money → Gate Money manages funds → Gate Card handles spending.
For people who frequently travel abroad, make cross-border purchases, or need to manage multiple assets, this integrated experience is definitely more convenient than switching between platforms all the time.
