[Vitalik: AI May Impact Post-Quantum Cryptographic Security in the Next Two Years, But Users Should Avoid Rushing to Move Assets] Foresight News reports that Vitalik Buterin tweeted about the cryptographic risks posed by AI accelerating mathematical research, not only affecting quantum-vulnerable algorithms but also algorithms potentially influenced by AI. He believes the core new risks lie in lattice-based cryptography such as ML-DSA and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE): if AI achieves mathematical progress equivalent to the past 50 years within the next two years, the specific security of lattice-based cryptography may significantly decline, and ECDSA may also fail earlier than expected. This is one of the key reasons why Ethereum's Lean roadmap over the past year has shifted toward pure hash-based signatures (such as WOTS, SPHINCS-) and reduced reliance on lattice-based cryptography. Regarding assets, he does not recommend anyone hastily transferring funds to new wallets today; if the operation is not difficult, funds can be placed in addresses that have not yet made any transactions, but the migration itself carries risks of loss. For multisig wallets, it is better to confirm transactions off-chain to avoid exposing signatures publicly.
