[Samsung Q3 Operating Profit Soars 783%, AI Memory Boom Drives Chip Business Profitability]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 8, Samsung Electronics released preliminary third-quarter results. The company's operating profit for the third quarter surged 783% year-on-year and increased 20.01% quarter-on-quarter, slightly exceeding analysts' expectations. This growth was primarily driven by the soaring demand for artificial intelligence chips, which fueled strong profitability in the memory business. Regulatory filings show that the world's largest memory chip manufacturer estimates its operating profit for the July-to-September period at 107.4 trillion Korean won (approximately $80.17 billion), compared to the market forecast of 106.1 trillion Korean won. This marks Samsung's fourth consecutive quarter of record-breaking operating profit. Its third-quarter revenue reached 195 trillion Korean won, up 127% year-on-year, slightly below the market forecast of 199 trillion Korean won. Samsung Electronics is expected to release its full earnings report later this month. (Jin10)
