Spent the afternoon at @Ondo's Open Interest event in Singapore. Franklin Templeton, SBI, and Siam Commercial Bank were also in attendance, and I even got to meet the true owner of ETH, @fundstrat.
The core topic of discussion was just one thing: how institutional funds can truly enter on-chain.
What caught my attention the most was Ondo Private Markets. After tokenizing U.S. equities and treasuries, they’re now bringing economic exposure to pre-IPO private companies on-chain. They even announced their first target at the event today.
I think this direction is very appealing for the Asian market.
We’ve always been keeping an eye on the world’s best companies, but often by the time retail investors can buy in, it’s already at the IPO stage. Tokenizing pre-IPO opportunities provides qualified users with earlier access to these companies.
Users can gain economic exposure through tokenized notes, which can be traded 24/7 on @OndoPerps’ spot order book, self-custodied, or transferred. What you’re buying here is economic exposure, not shareholder rights.
From U.S. equities to pre-IPO opportunities, Ondo is continuing to push the boundaries of what on-chain capital can participate in. This is also why, after today’s in-person discussions, I’m even more optimistic about this direction.
