[U.S. Treasury Yields Surge to 20-Year Highs, Two Veteran Bears Turn Bullish] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 7, citing Jintou Data, U.S. long-term Treasury bonds are experiencing the most intense sell-off in recent years. However, two well-known strategists who have long maintained a cautious stance on sovereign debt are now turning optimistic. Anatole Kaletsky, co-founder of Gavekal Research, began favoring 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasuries this week. Jim Bianco, founder of Bianco Research, also shifted to a positive outlook on long-term Treasuries last week, marking his first optimistic stance in six years. Their shift comes after yields surged to their highest levels in over two decades: the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield closed at approximately 5.31% on Monday, while the 30-year yield reached 5.66%, both marking the highest closing levels since 2002. The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT), with approximately $47 billion in assets, had previously fallen for 10 consecutive trading days, setting a record for its longest losing streak. However, as of Monday, it has still seen a net inflow of about $5.3 billion this year.
