Minerva Humanoids @mnv_humanoids has secured $10M in seed funding led by @generalcatalyst to build humanoid robots for the world’s most dangerous jobs. This concept is spot on and has great potential for real-world application.
- Building humanoid robots for the world’s most dangerous jobs.
- Oil and gas. Explosives disposal. Hazardous materials response.
The data they’ve gathered shows: 'Every 75 minutes, an energy worker somewhere in the world dies on the job. That’s roughly 7,000 deaths per year.'
Minerva has developed Roger, a semi-autonomous humanoid robot designed for specific tasks. It puts expert judgment and dexterous hands on the job while keeping their bodies safe at a remote command station. Founded by CEO Sandor Felber and CTO Maurice Rahme, the first paid pilots will launch this fall.
