VanEck CEO Jan van Eck stated that both AI data centers and Bitcoin mining heavily rely on cheap and stable electricity. If the U.S. further approves and restarts nuclear power projects, the addition of low-cost power supply could improve the economics of both industries and reduce the pressure on miners to sell BTC to cover electricity costs. VanEck's latest research shows that U.S.-listed Bitcoin mining companies are increasingly redirecting some power resources to AI/HPC, leveraging long-term computing contracts to secure more stable cash flow. This year, as miners face income pressure, selling newly mined BTC remains an important source of operational funding. Therefore, theoretically, lower electricity costs and diversified AI revenue streams could reduce reliance on financing through BTC sales.
