Glamsterdam was activated on the Sepolia testnet on October 6.
As usual, Ethereum's upgrade path is: Sepolia (for developers, applications, and contracts to test first), followed by Hoodi (for validators and staking infrastructure), and finally the mainnet.
Hoodi hasn’t been officially scheduled yet. If during Sepolia’s observation period there are no major issues with finality, ePBS, block-level access lists (BALs), and the new gas pricing, then under smooth conditions, Hoodi could potentially be scheduled as early as late October.
As for mainnet activation, it will depend on the testing results from Sepolia and Hoodi. The current target is roughly around the end of this year.
This upgrade itself, aside from significantly increasing the gas limit, also ties the execution layer Amsterdam with the consensus layer Gloas. The core focuses are protocol-level proposer-builder separation (ePBS, EIP-7732), block-level access lists (EIP-7928, enabling parallel state reads and validation), and re-pricing the costs of state creation and state access.
