I did the math twice. Less than $1,000 was stolen. On-chain, there are 17,000 validators, 523,000 ETH, roughly $1.4 billion. Today, the last batch is out. Validators’ keys are locked on-chain, can’t be swapped or changed. If you don’t trust it, the whole machine has to retire. Retiring requires queuing. On September 29, the queue had 166,000 ETH. By October 2, it surged to 850,000. Now it’s your turn—you’ll have to wait 13 days. Lido itself says ETH withdrawn takes 45 days before it can start earning again. Last week, Ethereum ETFs saw $138 million in outflows. This week, staking withdrawals are still ongoing. These two things combined, ETH couldn’t outperform BTC this week. I’m betting on this.
