The argument that Bitcoin uses too much energy is worth engaging with seriously rather than dismissing. But it also requires context: the traditional banking system, gold mining, and the data centres running the apps you use daily all consume enormous energy. Energy use alone is not the measure. What the energy produces and whether the value justifies it is the actual question.
