[JPMorgan CEO Dimon: Mythos Model Increases Global Cybersecurity Risks 'Tenfold']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on October 6, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated that the Mythos artificial intelligence model launched by Anthropic has significantly increased global cybersecurity risks. Dimon said on Tuesday: 'Since the emergence of Mythos, the risks brought by artificial intelligence have increased tenfold. AI has created vulnerabilities that we were previously unaware of, and even before these technologies appeared, we were already concerned about cybersecurity issues.'
He noted that artificial intelligence is exposing banks to new types of security vulnerabilities that either did not exist before or had not yet been discovered. Dimon stated: 'The negative side is clearly what everyone sees regarding AI agents, Mythos, and other technologies that could potentially cause trouble. These concerns are reasonable and very real.'
However, he mentioned that he would not engage in debates about whether artificial intelligence poses an 'existential threat.' Dimon said: 'I’m not going to get hysterical over questions like "Is this an existential threat or not?" What we are doing now is rolling up our sleeves and getting to work, figuring out how to address these issues.'
