FinCEN just killed two of its worst crypto proposals. The 2020 unhosted-wallet rule is dead. Exchanges would have had to ID you and keep records to send more than $3,000 to your own wallet, and report anything over $10,000. The 2023 mixer rule is dead too. It branded international mixing a "primary money laundering concern." FinCEN pulled it after warnings it would chill legitimate activity. Privacy is finally being treated as a normal feature instead of an automatic crime.
