Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 6, OpenAI Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon once again apologized on Tuesday for the breach of Australian government websites by its AI model and pledged to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. He also promised quicker responses should such events occur again. OpenAI stated that between the discovery of the breach in August and notifying the Australian government on September 10, the company had been verifying and investigating the relevant facts, including which information had been accessed. Kwon added that OpenAI is committed to improving internal processes to enable faster disclosure of such information. The company has implemented additional monitoring during the training of its AI systems. If the model accesses the internet improperly, the system will issue a notification to suspend training. Kwon expressed the company’s support for governments establishing mandatory major incident reporting mechanisms. (Jin10)
