According to DeepTech TechFlow, on October 6, Taiwanese media outlet *Economic Daily News* reported that AMD (AMD.O) CEO Lisa Su had an intensive schedule today, meeting with major OEMs and brand manufacturers such as Foxconn, Quanta, ASUS, and Acer. In the afternoon, she drove directly to Hsinchu for a private meeting with TSMC, the leading wafer foundry.
In response to the surging demand for AI computing, Lisa Su confirmed that AMD's previously announced $10 billion (approximately NT$317.6 billion) supply chain investment plan in Taiwan is not only on track but has also been increased due to skyrocketing market demand. She stated that AMD will continue to expand its supply chain investments in Taiwan in the future.
Lisa Su emphasized the importance of maintaining close collaboration with key suppliers and partners. Regarding the supply of CPUs and GPUs, she candidly remarked that this is an exciting time for all areas of computing. This year, AMD has significantly ramped up production driven by overall market demand, but demand still exceeds supply. As a result, AMD is working with TSMC, back-end packaging and testing providers, and substrate suppliers to accelerate capacity expansion. (*Jin10*)
