[Wall Street Syndicate Launches Record $60 Billion AI Financing Deal]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on October 6, as reported by the Financial Times, Bank of America, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley have begun distributing a $60 billion debt financing package to other banks to support Anthropic's leasing of Google (GOOG.O) AI chips, marking the largest chip financing deal to date. Approximately $42 billion of the financing consists of senior secured loans backed by Broadcom (AVGO.O), with syndication distribution having started on Monday. An additional $18 billion in subordinated debt, not backed by Broadcom, is expected to be launched later, with Blackstone committing to fund approximately $9 billion of it. The proceeds from the financing will be used for Anthropic's chip orders through 2027, with lease payments commencing after chip delivery. Broadcom may also receive up to $42 billion in convertible notes from Anthropic to cover related lease expenses. This $60 billion financing is seen as a key test of market demand for AI-related debt.
