[Polymarket Launches Protocol V2, Gradual Transition to New Markets Starting November 2] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 6, Polymarket released Protocol V2, the next-generation smart contract system for prediction markets, rebuilding the original architecture based on the 2019 Gnosis Conditional Tokens Framework. The new version adopts a unified single ERC1155 position token contract, a single collateral asset (pUSD), a unified exchange and routing system, and natively supports various market types such as Binary, Atomic Neg-risk, Incremental Neg-risk, and Combinatorial. Protocol V2 also introduces a new OracleAggregator, enabling modular integration with different oracles like UMA and Chainlink, while reserving capabilities for cross-chain support in the future, including bridging positions, collateral, and settlement results. The entire protocol is built on an upgradeable architecture, with the code audited by institutions such as Cantina, Certora, Quantstamp, SigmaPrime, Zellic, and Pashov. The maximum bounty for critical vulnerabilities is set at $5 million. Regarding migration, Polymarket will run some V2 Canary markets in the production environment from October 5 to 30, with plans to switch newly created markets to Protocol V2 starting November 2. Additionally, Polymarket has launched Data API V2, supported by a new Rust service and an internal on-chain indexer for the V2 protocol, while unifying data formats and pagination mechanisms.
