Holy crap, the SEC and CFTC just can’t stop with the bullish policies: 3x Bitcoin/Ethereum products are live, and now they’re paving the way for a nationwide license for U.S. crypto exchanges In just 5 days, U.S. regulators pulled off three things we never even dared to imagine before. October 1: The SEC made the first move on crypto custody. The new proposal allows registered investment advisors and funds to custody crypto under clear conditions, even leaving room for self-custody and state trust companies to act as custodians. October 2: The SEC officially approved Cboe BZX’s rule change, greenlighting 3x long Bitcoin and 3x long Ethereum products. These products gain exposure primarily through CME futures and reset daily, so they’re not equivalent to holding 3x BTC returns long-term. But the signal is insane: U.S. regulators are now debating whether retail investors should be allowed to use 3x leverage on crypto. October 5: The CFTC rolled out a federal framework specifically for retail crypto margin trading. Trading platforms can now register federally through the CAM route, adhering to regulations like proof of reserves, customer asset protection, anti-manipulation measures, market monitoring, and system security. This makes it legal to offer leveraged, margin, and financing-based crypto trading. CFTC Chair Michael Selig: The goal of regulation is shifting from cracking down after the next FTX-style collapse to proactively setting rules to prevent it. After the *CLARITY Act* got stuck, the SEC and CFTC are absolutely killing it. The Democrats are useless!
