**[Polymarket Launches Protocol V2, Reconstructing the Underlying Architecture of the Existing Protocol]** BlockBeats News, October 6 — Polymarket has launched the next-generation prediction market smart contract system, Polymarket Protocol V2, which reconstructs the underlying architecture of the existing protocol. The current protocol is based on the 2019 Gnosis Conditional Tokens Framework, requiring additional adapters, trading contracts, and authorization processes for each new market type. V2, however, adopts a unified architecture with a single ERC1155 position token contract, pUSD collateral assets, a trading platform contract, and a router. V2 features a modular architecture, initially supporting binary, atomic no-risk, incremental no-risk, and combinatorial markets. It connects to UMA, Chainlink, and future oracles through a new OracleAggregator. The protocol natively supports cross-chain functionality for positions, collateral assets, and settlement results, laying the groundwork for future multi-chain deployments. All contracts can be upgraded under a secure governance process. V2 has undergone audits by Cantina, Certora, Quantstamp, SigmaPrime, Zellic, and Pashov, with formal verification completed by Certora. The maximum bounty for critical vulnerabilities is set at $5 million. Polymarket will run a limited number of gray markets in the production environment from October 5 to October 30, with plans to switch new markets to V2 starting November 2. Additionally, it will launch Data API V2, built using Rust and an internal on-chain indexer. [Original Link]
