From 'Asia's Second' to 'World's Second': Metaplanet Becomes the World's Second Largest BTC Treasury Company in 2 Years

Odaily Planet Daily News: Today, Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich published a long post on the X platform, stating that Metaplanet completed Bitcoin sales and buybacks in the third quarter. The sales volume exceeded the total outstanding principal of corporate bonds, loans, and other interest-bearing liabilities, followed by buybacks that surpassed the sales volume, resulting in a net increase of 1,000 Bitcoins. As of September 30, Metaplanet holds 44,000 Bitcoins, making it the world's second-largest publicly listed Bitcoin treasury company. The company also introduced a net interest income strategy aimed at establishing a sustainable revenue source and reducing capital costs. It is worth noting that in October 2024, Metaplanet's BTC holdings increased to 1018.17 Bitcoins, ranking second in Asia at the time, only behind Boyaa Interactive, becoming 'Asia's second-largest corporate Bitcoin holder.'
